After the rebuild I used the settings button again to establish Rebuilt my old Identity folder (this process generous a clone copy of itself, self-titled "Backup"). the only thing missing was 6 years of stored emails in multiple folders. Calendar items all intact, Contacts all there as well. The new account instantly downloaded all mail residing Then go into prefs>accounts and create a new Exchange account (I'm on a corporate network as well). The Main Window appeared - yay! This is what I had not been able to see before. To make it the Default identity (it turns bold) and closed out of the app. I created a new identity, used the Settings button Launch Outlook with the Option key held down this brings up the Database Rebuild app that allows you to establish a new identify (in addition to the "old" misbehaving version that is listed in the box). Stuart - although our issues are different I'm hoping this may resolve for you as well: Back to its happy old self - in Yosemite. My thanks to all who have contributed to this thread, since between one clue and another I have been successful in finally getting Outlook to behave normally. Outlook is the only application of the many I have on this machine that doesn't work. I've tried the "kill the database daemon" recommendation: didn't work.
MAC OS YOSEMITE ABOUT SCREEN MAC OS X
Problem for not keeping up with changes in the new release of Mac OS X - I mean Yosemite was only in public beta for how long? months?. I'm not sure who to "blame" here (apart from myself for not reading this forum before upgrading to Yosemite )). Outlook doesn't work: web access to Outlook does work (but is very inconvenient). I have tried setting up the account in Apple Mail (by the way, I agree with you about Apple Mail), but this does not work either, with very little (none) feedback.

If I try using curl on the URL listed in the dialog box I get a "600" error, but then so does my colleague running Maverick - but his Outlook works. I get continuous popups of the following dialog.Ĭhecking "Always use my response for this server" appears to have no effect: the dialog box comes back.

I just can't get a connection to the server. I don't experience the "missing main window" problem. Came back to work on Monday and have sinceįound it impossible to get a connection to the Exchange server. I installed Yosemite (over the top of Mavericks) on the weekend. Last Friday I had an operational Outlook application under Mavericks that I use at work. My experience has been very similar to Bruce's experience.
